How to fight water retention at home?

Water retention, as we know, is a very widespread problem that particularly affects the female population with consequent imperfections that can put a strain on our mood.

This problem can be caused by numerous factors, in particular by problems related to venous circulation with accumulation of toxins: this can lead to the stagnation of liquids which, once accumulated, form edema that cause swelling of the tissues.

It can often be confused with cellulite which, on the other hand, is an inflammatory process affecting the subcutaneous adipose tissue. The best way to make sure that it is water retention and not cellulite is to carry out a thermographic analysis: an easy, fast and totally painless examination that allows you to have a “heat map” of the subcutaneous tissues.

Through special microencapsulated liquid crystal plates, placed on the skin of the area to be analyzed, it is possible to identify the presence of cellulite, classifying it in one of its four stages (absent, edematous, fibrous, sclerotic).

It is an innovative technology, entirely Made in Italy near Milan, by IPS S.r.l., protected by an international patent to protect its scientific validity.

Through contact thermography, it is possible to detect cellulite even when not found on visual examination or palpation (a frequent situation in the case of edematous cellulite, in the very early stages), allowing you to act in a preventive perspective with targeted and less invasive treatments.

Once the situation of the subcutaneous layers has been identified, it is possible to improve the condition by following, for example, some simple dietary rules.

For example, it is advisable to moderate the intake of alcoholic beverages, tea, coffee and drinks that contain caffeine. On the other hand, avoid all foods that contain large amounts of sodium (which must be limited as much as possible).

Hydration plays a fundamental role in the fight against water retention, so it is important to make sure you drink at least 2 liters of water a day and consume 2 servings of fruit and vegetables (rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants that help to counteract the free radicals).

Herbal teas and detox waters represent a valid help for those who find it hard to drink water and can also help in a purifying perspective.

The food part must always be accompanied by healthy physical activity: walks, runs or bicycle rides to do at least for an hour, 3 times a week.

Another valuable help comes from cosmetics: a good cream with a thermogenic effect, preceded by a scrub session, can do real miracles in reactivating the circulation and improving the tissues.
